York eases up the Hill
Yorkhill won the feature race on the card and in the style of a progressive horse. In the parade ring he and the runner up both appeared to have some growing and strengthening to do over time, and it seems clear there future is lying over a fence, but they put on a show for the punters nonetheless.
Yorkhill had been backed as if defeat was out of the question, and two from home he was travelling like his 4/9 odds suggested, easing to the front heading to the last he put in the better jump before Ruby had to keep him up to his work on the run to the line. All credit though to O O Seven he ran all the way to the line and the manner of the victory was not as simple as once had seemed to have been the case.
Whether that was partly due to Yorkhill showing his inexperience in only his second start over hurdles or whether he was tiring on the wet ground he is certainly one to keep a very close eye on for the future.
Later on the card though was the real star of the show. A friend of this website, Rayvin Black showed why he is so popular, hairing off in front early Tom Garner gave him a peach of a ride, not panicking when challenged heading out of the back he sent him on over two out, before producing his usual flyer at the last. He fairly scampered up the run, much to Tom's and Team Sherwoods delight as he gave the horse an almighty pat down the neck passing the line !!
