The Longines Sagaro Stakes was the feature race on the card, and ironically was won in a record time by the promising Cumani inmate Mizzou.
The field was taken along at a rare old clip by Forever Now and Frankie Dettori and turning for home he had a number of his rivals under pressure. This move however was covered by Buick on Mizzou who swept past entering the final furlong before staying on powerfully, giving the impression that the Gold Cup distance is going to be well within his compass.
In contrast there was a sprinter of some formidable class on show on the card in the form of the powerhouse gelding Limato. Walking around the pre parade I didn't think there was much to him. He isn't the biggest horse you'll see on a racecourse, but when everything gets going he is a well oiled machine.
A competitive looking sprint on paper, LImato simply took them apart from two out without coming under a serious ride from a visibly happy James Doyle.. The inaugural Group 1 Commonwelath Stakes, a six furlong race at the Royal Meeting for three year olds must be under consideration, but if he were mine I would be dreaming of a whole lot more.
