Once again Nicky Henderson was the trainer to follow at Huntingdon with a double on the card, with young conditional Tom Bellamy once again proving what an emerging talent he is.
Maestro Royal is a regal looking animal and to me looked every inch a chaser walking around the parade ring. In the race he was the beneficiary of a strong gallop set by It's a Sting and Leighton Aspell, getting on top in the run to the last before quickly putting the race to bed to win decisively.
Arbeo was the subject of support in the handicap chase but it had been a while between drinks for him. His jumping had been the feature of his previous wins and this was again the case as he rolled back the years for an impressive success under Marc Goldstein.
The Seven Barrows double was completed in the mares novice hurdle, with a strong pace again this time set by the free going Miss Estella. Hel Tara's abundant stamina was in evidence turning in as she ground out a victory in the manner of an improving mare under Jeremiah McGrath
