February Jumps 2015 -
Berry Bros and Rudd Handicap Chase
The previous meeting at Newbury saw the announcment that A P McCoy was going to hang up his boots at the end of the season having been Champion jockey a staggering 20 times consecutively.
He was back again this time though with five rides on the card, his best chance being the extremely exciting Minella Rocco.
This horse surely has AP reconsidering his retirement. With a huge stride, he simply devours the ground and once again he barely came off of the bridle as he sauntered seven lengths clear of Royal Vacation with a mere 73 lengths back to the third.
The Berry Bros and Rudd handicap chase went the way of "The Champion in waiting" Richard Johnson and Village Vic. Having finished runner up to AP 15 times, Johnson must be glad to see the back of him. A view his rivals in this race had a great view of, as Johnson and Village Vic made every yard of the running and stayed on powerfully to win by just over two lengths
