Well what can you say...
Mere words have been used to describe him time and time again, superlatives exhausted long ago, but on a sunny day at a racecourse in Esher the racing public spoke in volumes with their actions.
Tickets SOLD OUT, not an inch of space left on the expansive grandstand the atmosphere was electric. Many are probably saddened and disappointed that he will no longer grace the sport in his current role as the dominating professional but this felt more like a Celebration of a stunning career.
Sadly there was to be no "Box Office" finish, but the masses of people that flocked round the winners enclosure was a sight to behold. But as out goes "The Champion Jockey" there has to be a new one and messers Sean Bowen and Richard Johnson showed their undoubted class in doubling up on the card.
Next year is going to be some jockeys title race !!
